The 2010–2011 season marked the beginning of a new era for FC Nordsjælland. Under Kasper Hjulmand's leadership, the club began to refine its philosophy of technical, possession-based football, which would later make them champions and Champions League participants. The small club from Farum suddenly showed great potential – even away from home.

With youth in the background and experience in the foreground, the squad began to shape the style that later made FCN one of the most entertaining teams in the Superliga.

Although the championship was still on the horizon, FCN secured their first major triumph in the spring of 2010 with a victory in the Danish Cup.
