FOOTBALL MEMORIES
Crystal Palace entered the 2015–2016 season with Alan Pardew as manager and a team that had reached the FA Cup final in the spring of 2015. The ambition was clear: build on stability and avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
The team's backbone was evident. Wayne Hennessey played most of the season in goal, in front of a defence featuring Scott Dann, Brede Hangeland, and later James Tomkins. In midfield, Yohan Cabaye was the technical leader, while Mile Jedinak continued as captain and physical anchor.
Offensively, Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie were key to pace and unpredictability. Palace could be dangerously direct on the counter – especially at Selhurst Park – but lacked consistent goalscoring. Connor Wickham delivered a few important goals, but consistency was missing.
The season ended with a 15th-place finish in the Premier League, and although the spring was inconsistent, Palace were never seriously threatened by relegation. It was a classic mid-table season: professional, uneven, and without drama – precisely what the club needed at the time.
Should this Crystal Palace football shirt from the 2015–2016 season be your testimony to everyday Premier League life, as it looked at Selhurst Park in the mid-2010s?
