FOOTBALL MEMORIES

There was renewed faith in the project in Aarhus. AGF had only spent one season in the 1st division after relegation in 2010, and the fifth place immediately after their return gave hope that the "elevator years" might finally be over. 2012/13 started well, but the spring was more erratic, and Peter Sørensen's team finished seventh with 41 points.

It also became the season where AGF said goodbye to one of the club's great figures of recent times. Peter Graulund ended his career in the autumn of 2012 after 219 games and exactly 100 goals for AGF. In May, he had his testimonial match in Aarhus. Martin Jørgensen was also back at his childhood club after many years in Italian football, while Steffen Rasmussen continued to guard the goal.

Another prominent name disappeared in the middle of the season. Aron Jóhannsson, who later chose the American national team, was sold to AZ Alkmaar in January 2013 after 25 goals in 70 AGF matches. It was a period where old AGF profiles and a new generation thus met on the same team.

The dark blue Hummel jersey was AGF's official away jersey and was worn with YouSee as the main sponsor. It was precisely during this period that AGF entered into large sponsorship agreements with, among others, YouSee and Optimera, while the club's merchandise turnover doubled.

An original AGF jersey from the years between their return to the Superliga and the new downturn, which just one season later would send the club into the 1st division again.
