FOOTBALL MEMORIES

It was a national team jersey created for one specific evening. Christian Eriksen, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Rasmus Højlund, and the rest of Denmark wore the model against Spain in the Nations League. Denmark lost 1-2, but the jersey itself became one of the most striking Danish designs in recent times.

HALO allowed the pattern to be based on its own history. Founder Helge Petersen got the idea for the brand during a parachute jump in 1981, and the lines across the jersey are inspired by parachute jumping. The deep burgundy, the gray/black edges, and the HALO logo beneath the Hummel logo simultaneously made the model a conscious meeting between national team football and Danish fashion.

The collaboration also broke with the notion of how Denmark necessarily should look on a football pitch. DBU described the model as a tribute to community and solidarity, while Hummel saw it as part of the evolution where football jerseys increasingly move beyond the stadium. It was launched as a limited edition on October 24, 2024.
