Kappa arrived in Copenhagen in the summer of 2004. FCK came directly from The Double, but the first Kappa season instead became the year Brøndby took the championship, while the Copenhageners found another path to a trophy: the brand new Royal League.

FOOTBALL MEMORIES
A small piece of Scandinavian football history was written that season. The Royal League brought together the best Danish, Swedish and Norwegian clubs in a winter tournament, and FCK reached the final against IFK Göteborg. After a 1-1 draw, the penalty shootout ended absurdly long: 12-11 to FCK, making the Copenhageners the tournament's first champions.
The team had a very recognisable mid-00s FCK feel. Álvaro Santos and Sibusiso Zuma were offensive profiles, Tobias Linderoth controlled the midfield, while Lars Jacobsen, Bo Svensson and the young William Kvist were among the names in the squad. In the Superliga, however, FCK had to watch Brøndby take the gold and settle for second place.
