Sturm Graz football shirt 2017-18

The black and white stripes are practically a uniform in Graz. In 2017-18, the classic Sturm colours were once again allowed to dominate the home kit after a season with thin pinstripes. Lotto returned to wide vertical stripes – still with the enormous Puntigamer advertisement, which has almost become as integral a part of Sturm as the colours themselves. The model can be documented as the home kit from 2017-18.

FOOTBALL MEMORIES

2017-18 was a season that gave Sturm fans something tangible to remember. The club competed with Red Bull Salzburg for the top of Austrian football and finished second in the Bundesliga. Even more importantly, the cup tournament arrived.

In the final in Klagenfurt, Salzburg was waiting. After 90 goalless minutes, the match went into extra time, where Stefan Hierländer scored the goal for 1-0. Sturm Graz had won the Austrian Cup for the first time since 2010 and broken Salzburg's four-year grip on the trophy.

It was a Sturm team with, among others, Peter Žulj, Deni Alar and Thorsten Röcher, while Heiko Vogel took over as coach during the season. The cup victory thus marked the end of a season where Sturm had once again been at the very top.

The shirt also marked a return to the club's traditional wide black and white stripes. Lotto had supplied Sturm since 2014, and Puntigamer continued a sponsorship collaboration that can be traced back to 1996.
